The Kagawa Prefecture of Japan will export 600 square watermelons to European and North American countries for exhibition, Japanese media reported Thursday. Each of the square watermelons has gone through examination and costs 13000 yen (RMB920) to 14000 yen (RMB990).(See photo)
据日本媒体18日报道，日本香川县将向欧美等国运送600个方形西瓜，主要用于陈列展览。这些方形西瓜都经严格检验，售价从1.3万日元(920元)到1.4万日元(990元)不等。(见图)

A: Of course I do. As far as I know, square watermelon is the same as the normal watermelon on taste.
2、Do you know how to plant the square watermelons? And any advantage of the square watermelons?
A: The watermelons' fruit were planted in a cube when it was small. When it  grew, it will be influent by the shape of the cube. At last, the fruit turn to be a square.

first, I think square watermelons are easier to place than normal watermelons which like a ball. What's more, the strange shape can draw consumers' attention. But it seems that all the benefit are only to the merchants.
We customer in fact get nothing. Yes, it's special, but it's delicious as the normal one. While, it's expensive because of its unique shape. And have you ever thought that, how can we cut it to eat, by a normal way?

The water melon's sharp is weird. It catchs customer's eyes by its speical appearance. As a matter of fact, i am afraid of eating a water melon like this,  i'll think other terrible things when i am eating it. Is it variant? Will i be poisoned? ah, so horrible. Therefore, give up to taste maybe is the best way for me.
Compared with the normal water melon whose apprance is round, expect its appearance there is nothing speical. And i surfed the Internet, it says its taste is not the good as the round melon. In addition, its price is too dear, no one will willing to buy such a water melon to eat despite its taste.

The square watermelon, I pleasure to test, I guess the tast of the square one as the normal one. The plant is very easy, I think. The watermelon is get into a square box during growing, therefore it turn to the square shape. But the price is very dear, so if let me to make a choice in the square watermelon and normal melon, I will choose the normal one.

of course i dare to ,it looks so qute fresh,i think they tasted will just like normal watermelons because although their sharp have changeed,they are still watermenlon

For one thing,i think it interesting to eat the square watermelons,for i hear it first in my life .For another thing , i hold my belief that it is dangrous for us to risk to taste it,as the Genetically Modified Food .even if you taste it,perhaps you can say it is usual.


As for how to plant the square watermalons,i think that it maybe use some mold to make it change into square. i can't find out Square Watermelon What are the advantages compared to regular watermelons.

Yes, I do. I think there is no difference between square watermelons and normal ones except the appearance.

When the watermelon is small, it is put into a container which has a shape of cube. Then, it will be restricted when growing up and to be a square one.
Here is the advantage. The square watermelons can be transported conveniently and stored easily. It can attract people’s attention; also, people will buy it eagerly out of curiosity although it is expensive. What’s more, people can cut it from the middle and eat it more conveniently without worrying that it will fall down, for it’s more stable.
